Welcome to my photo blog! Here is where I document my love for art through the lens of my camera. I fell in love with fashion at the ripe age of 13 and soon discovered that I had a an eye for creativity. I love finding art in all forms through various mediums from fashion, photography and everything in between! I hope to interpret my vision, capture and document it through stories and images to leave my trail of footprints along the way. I hope you enjoy this personal diary where I will share with you my mommy moments, my critique for food, my latest must-haves and my most random thoughts!

Hello World: Lauren Amara

World...this is Lauren Amara. Lauren Amara...this is world! The stork arrived earlier than scheduled. About two weeks early, to be exact...but it was long anticipated for a couple who has started their journey together more than ten years ago! If you ask me, this baby was long over due! So here she is, world! I wanna say she has ten lil' fingers and ten lil' toes but they're not quite so little. Well, they are. It's just that they are LONG little fingers and LONG little toes! She would make a great hand model or even a foot model someday - no kidding! : D

Missy

Her breath was a little hot and it almost singed my nose hairs, but it's all good....

...we love you, Missy!

Maternity: Nicole & Mark

The drive home from Nicole & Mark's shoot was long. When time pasts slowly and anything that you do just seem to take longer, it usually means you're not enjoying it. Well, my drive home was long - not because I wasn't enjoying it - but because I enjoyed it...every minute of it. I hit every stop light and stayed behind every slow car - it seems, but I needed it. You know...it was just one of those days...one of those days where everything goes your way and nothing seems to slow you down. Not even a stop light or a slow car. One of those days where time isn't kept and rushing isn't so important. These days are hard to come by but it came. I spent my afternoon photographing friends, sang along to my favorite jams on my ride home and spent the rest of the evening with my two favorite people, Al and Mya.

I just finished editing Nicole and Mark's maternity session and as I looked through the photos, I started to recall the day. It was indeed the perfect day and the images are the proof in the pudding. I couldn't believe how perfect the exposures were and because they were perfectly exposed, they were a breeze to edit. This turned out to be one of my favorite sessions with some of my favorite images. I just love having one of those long days...

A Princess Story: Vanessa

Once upon a time there lived a princess named Vanessa who lived in a beautiful castle in a magical kingdom far away. She wanted a royal birthday bash and wanted to invite all of the kings and all of the queens to come and celebrate her 3rd birthday in her magnificent palace. Princess Vanessa had three wishes for her 3rd birthday. Her first wish was for a crown encrusted with the brightest diamonds. Her second wish was for a pair of the shiniest glass slippers and her third wish was to have the fairest princess of all come to her birthday bash – Cinderella. The king and the queen loved their little princess so much, they decided to surprise the princess and granted her all three wishes and more! Princess Vanessa was in the presence of all of her princess friends who came showering her with splendid gifts. It was wonderful! Among all the kings and all the queens, there was Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Ariel, Jasmine and many others! The royal birthday celebration was grand and it couldn’t have been any better than it was for a princess who turned three!

Mya Monday

There’s a place for everything. Even for boogers. Yes, boogers! “Boogers get in a booger bus and go to the booger town”, says Mya. Whhaaat…and you didn’t know that? Beyond my mature imagination is where this lies and it tickles me to pieces when she comes up with these wacky and crazy ideas that are out-of-this-world! I have to admit, it’s amusing and I can’t help but to bust out in a laughing frenzy from some of the things she says. Mya has been Little Miss Chatterbox since she was a babbling baby, but her recent growth spurt in speech and vocabulary are what we are most impressed with. She’s speaking in complete sentences and even knows when to use plurals. How she got the plural concept was beyond me. That lesson was somehow easier to teach than trying to explain to her that the moon was not following us. We were in the car as I was driving and a question arises. “Mommy!? Why is the moon following us?” “It’s not following us, Mya.” “Yes, it is. See? It is following us.” So we went back and forth battling out the logic in the moon…and why it seemed like it was following us – but it wasn’t. I think I did pretty well without any Cliffs Notes. At the end of our car ride, she was left slightly puzzled, a bit overwhelmed and somewhat content. Now – if we can only convince her that monsters do not exist in bath tub drains…
